On the occasion of my neighbor trip to Spain, I felt the need to give more precise information regarding the arrival and departure fromMadrid Barajas Airport to the city center.
The easiest way to get there, as you can see from the photo, is with the subway. The airport is about 12km from the city center and can be reached in about 20 minutes thanks to the line 8, the subway rose, the line is called Nuevos Ministerios which circulates from 6.05 am to 2 am, practically almost always.
As you can see on the metro map, the airport consists of four terminals (T1, T2, T3 and T4). The first three are located next to each other while T4 is the international airport, separated from the others but connected by a free shuttle bus service that takes 20 minutes for the journey from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4. Generally low flights cost with Ryanair all arrive at T1.
The single ticket for a metro ride costs starting by 1.50 euro this means that it can increase according to the chosen destination. The supplement for the airport and line 8 costs 3 euros instead. This means that the ticket from Barajas airport to the center of Madrid comes 4.50 €. If you have any doubts, here you will find all the new Madrid metro fares in the official page.
If you don't want to go by subway? You can go in bus. There are also three options based on where you arrive.
You can take the Line Exprés, tickets are 5 € and you arrive at Atocha station.
If you arrive at Terminal 4 you can take the Line 200, cost of 1.50 euros and you will arrive in Avenida de America.
If you arrive at the Terminals 1, 2 and 3 you can take the Line 101, it costs only 1.50 euros it is possible to get to Canillejas.
