Travelogue in Fuerteventura useful tips for your holidays in the beautiful Canary Island
For this year's summer holidays we decided to visit a fantastic island that of Fuerteventura.
Flight from Fiumicino and hotel (full board + drinks) Hotel Elba Sara, located in Caleta de Fuste, which a few years ago was managed by Alpitour.
A really nice hotel with a nice swimming pool with whirlpool and very large rooms all with balconies overlooking the pool.

Fuerteventura island information, tips and suggestions
The first day we turn to our "tour operator" to rent a car, but they tell us that at the moment they don't have one and we have to wait a few days.
With little we are able to rent a small convertible off-road vehicle for the whole period.
Fuerteventura holidaysAnd so our adventures begin.
Fuerteventura it's a'isola very large compared to what can be deduced from the maps but in a week we were able to turn it far and wide and also make an escapade in Lanzarote.
Fuerteventura what to see, places to visit and the most beautiful beaches
We recommend visiting the following places and beaches located in various areas of the island.
South of Fuerteventura following the road that leads to Morro de Jable continue for quite a while on a dirt road that leads to Faro de Jandia where you will find a breathtaking landscape with rocks that fall sheer to the sea; you are at the southernmost point of the island.
Going back you will find a detour (always on the dirt road) that leads to the Cofete Beach where there are usually few people and the beach and the sea are beautiful, it is really worth taking a bath.
Going up the east coast to the north, those who love animals, succulents and "walks on dromedaries" should stop at Lajita where you can take a short half hour ride on a dromedary and visit the fantastic zoo with exotic animals.
Fuerteventura beachesStill going north, it is possible to admire and take a beautiful bath in the fantastic beach of Leeward where the sea here is truly crystal clear.
In this beach you will find that there are many surfers, Fuerteventura is the island of the wind and the world championships of wind surfing.
In the north central area of Fuerteventura stop and take a picture in the dunes that pass to the right and left of the road from Puerto del Rosario leads to Corralejo.
They are really beautiful, it seems to be in the middle of the desert. Then stop the car, cross the dunes and take a bath in the most beautiful beach I have ever seen.
Take an escapade also to the El Cotillo Beach which is very beautiful.
And to go there, cross the central mountainous area.
You will see centers like The olive o Antigua.
They are very beautiful and the arid vegetation of the place is very suggestive.
A Puerto del Rosario, unlike some who say it is very animated, at the end of July I found it semi-desert.
There is very little entertainment.
If you can, go to port corralejo and book a ticket for Lanzarote (bring your car too) and take a trip to the mountain-volcano Timanfya (where you can see that the volcano is always on and from up there enjoy a lunar view and where you can enjoy an excellent "chicken" cooked on the volcano), Jameos del Agua ea in the southwestern part a The gulf where there is a beautiful black sand beach (due to volcanic eructations).
Fuerteventura what to eat and where to have fun
Fuerteventura, as well as all the Canary Islands, is renowned for the majorero which is a local goat cheese.
Other dishes to taste absolutely are:
- La parillada de pescado or grilled fish
- Il Carido en adobo Majorero or marinated kid
- I Tapas
- The churros or sweet donuts
As regards the fun in Fuerteventura there is a lot of fun.
I bar, the local and discotheques they are open all night and most evenings are held on the beach.
For those who love fun I recommend going to correct it porto or in the Peninsula of Jandia.
Fuerteventura when to go and weather
The climate of the splendid Fuerteventura island it is mild all year round.
It goes from 20 ° in the winter months to 27/30 ° in the summer months.
The best time to go on vacation in Fuerteventura it runs from May to September but it is not impossible to take a trip between October and November as temperatures remain around 25 °.
The sea water temperature is always fresh and never exceeds 20 ° but, at the same time, it does not drop more than 19 °.
Honestly I would go back to tomorrow too Fuerteventura because apart from the beautiful sea (a little cold, but swimming is good all the same), the enchanting beaches and the breathtaking landscapes, I really found my ideal temperature.
