Ibiza with children, three things to do in the liveliest city in Spain beyond the sea. Advice from those who have been there with a child and can give you ideas for further activities in Ibiza with the little ones.
Who said that Ibiza is it just a place for young and young vacationers? Ibiza is also perfect for families, especially out of season, when the clubs have not yet opened, between early April and late May or early September and mid October, when the temperature is mild but not excessively hot.
What can you do in Ibiza with children?
Lots of activities. I was amazed to see that Ibiza is a destination that has a tourism even different from what perhaps naively, we think. In Ibiza we connect nightlife, discos, sunrises and beaches. Nothing of our common imagination regarding this island would lead us to think that perhaps it could be a destination to be recommended also to families, and instead.
1. Discover Dalt Vila in Evissa
Dalt Vila, Old City, that's what this part of Ibiza really is. Here you can do many itineraries, you can admire sunsets and finally you can stop to eat in the many bars along the marina. Discovering Dalt Vila means walking (because only residents can drive by car) to the top of the Cathedral of the town dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. It means finding a postcard view at every turn, and the true history of the island, also because this is really the old and even the oldest city of Ibiza. Since 1999 Dalt Vila is UNESCO heritage and there are many museums that are located within the high walls of the old city that, with or without children, I recommend you visit or to take a look at at least. As soon as you enter the large door, you will find the Placa de Vila with many bars and shops, very characteristic in the beautiful evenings of spring and autumn, not to mention the summer.
2. Las Dalias Market
The market of Las Dalias is the most famous market in Ibiza, born in the 70s and still today managed largely by a hippy community of the island. The charm is indescribable and is not only suitable for those looking to make some good purchases, but also for children who can have fun here finding t-shirts or dresses, sometimes made by local hippies, or to eat something fresh or tasty, thanks the bars and restaurants located inside the market. I recommend visiting the Las Dalias market on active days, so on Saturdays from 10am and the evening market on Mondays and Tuesdays from 19pm from June to September. On the site you can also see the exact location and the Kid's Area section.
3. The farm with animals in Ibiza
What surprised me most about Ibiza is that there are also enchanting places in the hinterland (so Ibiza is not just the sea, on the contrary!). One of these is without doubt Can Muson. Here, in addition to visiting the farm and getting to know the animals with the children, you can do lots of play and discovery activities. Children can buy a basket of things to eat and go around the animals, even accompanied by a guide, to learn more about the farm animals and feed them. In addition, you can buy local products from the garden, wine, oil and eggs. Finally, if you wish, you can have an aperitif directly on the farm.
