Vaccines, visa, currency, exchange, roads and much more. Here is everything you need to know before embarking on a trip to Nepal, read the post and book for your trip to Asia.
Health and vaccines for Nepal
As for vaccines, nothing special is required. The only one they recommend is anti-malarial in case you decide to go and visit the jungle.
As with any trip, perhaps it is useful to do a "cycle" of lactic ferments before leaving. Also, to avoid ruining your holiday with intestinal problems, I always recommend drinking bottled water.
Nepalese cities are very polluted and dusty. For this reason, try to cover your mouth with a scarf or a mask, which you can easily buy on the spot. So avoid eating a lot of dust. To avoid possible eye discomfort, try to keep them covered, perhaps with a pair of glasses.
Transport in Nepal
In Nepal you don't even dream of renting a car. For your safety I also advise against the use of a scooter.
In the city, the most convenient way to get around is definitely by taxi.
You can also try public buses or tuk-tuks, but you have to get help from people. This is because the writings are only in Nepali and it is not always clear what the "conductors" say.
For longer journeys, rely on either your hotel or agencies scattered around the cities. In both cases, they will organize your transfers by booking your ticket on the tourist buses. Allow at least 6 hours for 200 km, then arm yourself with patience. For the meal you don't have to worry it is already included in the ticket and also a bottle of water.
If you decide to take a mini-tour of Nepal, hotels can offer you the possibility to rent a mini van with driver.
The roads of Nepal
As you may have understood, the roads are not in excellent condition, but at least the roads that connect the main cities are paved. Instead, those that reach the starting points for trekking are often dirt roads or roads full of large holes. Your stomach can be put to the test.
Visa to Nepal
The visa is done easily upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. The procedure to obtain it is done through electronic devices and then passed by the officials present at the airport to complete the paperwork. The tourist visa for 30 days costs $ 25 and can also be paid in euros.
What to eat in Nepal
We are in Asia, so the main dish is rice which is served separately with vegetables and meat. For those who are vegetarians there is no problem, many dishes are cooked only with vegetables.
How much is life in Nepal
Nepal is an economic country. For both sleeping and eating, you can find everything from luxurious hotels and restaurants to street food and super cheap hostels. It is a country dotted with UNESCO sites and this means that you have to pay to visit them. Don't worry, you pay a maximum of € 15, depending on the exchange rate.
Exchange and currency in Nepal
The local currency is the Nepalese rupee. The exchanges scattered around the cities accept both dollars and euros. There are also ATMs and hotels accept credit cards. If you go trekking I recommend that you change your money while you are still in town and have small cuts to pay for drinks, which are usually not included in the "trekking package" or for some whim.
Security in Nepal
"Home Sweet Home". This is how it feels in Nepal. On the street you will never have the feeling that someone wants to steal something from you. Obviously, as in any part of the world, one must be careful and not flaunt one's wealth. The only thing Nepal can steal from you is your smile. You will not be able to stop exchanging them with people and especially with children who with their dark and deep eyes will also take your heart.
