Where to eat in Miami, the best restaurants tried for you and reviews of places that serve Mexican, Cuban and even Italian food, to always feel at home anywhere in the world.
Ah Miami! I still remember when, on my birthday, my boyfriend pulled out a little package… inside a Miami travel guide! He told me "in May we go!" and I was in seventh heaven. Oh yes, because Miami is a bit of a legend for us ... the city of fun, of ostentatious wealth, of cars with the windows down and loud music, of tamarri and I was really curious to see what it could reserve for me!
As I told you in this city the fun is not lacking and the places to spend your evenings are many. I love the good cooking, so I want to make a list of the places that, in my opinion, you cannot give up if you are there. Above all you have to think that Miami is a multi-ethnic city and therefore you can taste various cuisines, an opportunity not to be missed. I was staying in South Beach and there is no shortage of clubs there.
Oh Mexico
This fantastic Mexican restaurant it is found at Espanola way, a beautiful and picturesque Spanish-style street, where you will find plenty of restaurants. If you want to drink a very good Margarita and enjoy an unforgettable Guacamole accompanied by homemade Tortilla chips this is the place for you. Very kind staff and delicious food. Don't miss it. Not exactly cheap (like almost everything in Miami).
Havana 1957
Cuban restaurant which you can find on both Espanola way and Lincoln road. We went to the one on Lincoln which is a beautiful pedestrian street where you can walk and enjoy lots of shops, bars and restaurants. In this restaurant I have eaten the best chicken of my entire life. This is the house specialty and from what I understand it is cooked for a long time in theirs special Cuban salsa and comes with rice, beans, salad and sweet peppers. A delight I assure you! Not to mention their Mojito, very good. I recommend not to overdo it because it is beautifully loaded, otherwise you find yourself like me singing and entering any type of shop taken up by compulsive shopping combined with annoying drunkenness.
Los Pinarenos Fruteria
You must know that from this journey I have become water of coconut addicted! I had never tasted it and for the first time I drank it in this quaint greengrocer located in Little Havana. As I walked I was drawn to this shop with lots of fresh fruit on display. In particular, I noticed that some people came out with a holed coconut in their hand with a straw stuck in it and obviously I couldn't help but run inside to taste it. L'coconut water it is so refreshing and good that from there I could not do without it. Please, insert Little Havana in your visit to Miami because you absolutely cannot miss this long street where you can breathe a bit of Cuba! The street musicians, the domino players, the colors, I liked it very much.
Hosteria Romana
I usually carefully avoid Italian restaurants, but here thelobster it had a great price. My fiance and I had a dish for two with a whole lobster and lots of fish all around (mussels, oysters, shrimps etc.). For the dish that was we spent little (about € 35 each) and it was really very good. The staff is practically all Italian and they are very nice and friendly.
The Sandwicherie
As I told you, Miami is quite expensive so if you don't want to pass out, every now and then I recommend quick and cheap lunches. If you want to find an alternative to the usual chains I recommend this little place on Collins Avenue a South Beach. Here I ate a avocado and chicken sandwich and I can highly recommend it (I asked for it with double avocado !!). It is an easy, fast place, where you eat at the counter, spend little but don't give up on the quality of the product.
Bayside marketplace
It is a kind of outdoor mall overlooking Biscayne Bay in Downtown. Here in addition to many shops you can find many chains (Twin Peaks, Hard Rock Cafe, Subway) and bars where you can eat a little junkie food and drink good mojiti at low cost prices. A must-see to grab some souvenirs and relax at sunset overlooking the bay.
One thing I can recommend is to always ask for one list with prices. We didn't have a great experience one night on Ocean Drive for this very reason. If they don't bring you a menu with the amounts indicated verbally, they can tell you anything, so be careful.
Apart from this little parenthesis, we have always enjoyed ourselves. The good food, the good drink and the friendliness of the staff make Miami one of the places where I found myself best in terms of cuisine and entertainment. Absolutely worth a visit, if only to sing "Welcome to Miami welcome to Miami”On Ocean Drive and don't be taken for crazy, because Miami is like that, it's music, it's colors, it's fun, it's joy.
