After the post on how to avoid scams for the excursions to Sharm, here is a post on excursions that I think is worth doing once in this tourist destination.
First take a day to get to Cairo by bus, we leave at one in the morning and return at midnight the following day. At the hotel they will sell you the excursion for 80 €, outside the hotel you will also find it for 40 €.
Another one Valid excursion is Ras Mohammed, the natural park which is located just outside the tourist resort and which is especially worthwhile if you do snorkeling because you can do it in the two canals that “surround” Sharm and see the mangroves. The park entrance is also called theentry of God because it is made with boulders on which the word God is read in Arabic and Hebrew. Also this excursion both inside and outside the hotel you will pay around € 25.
These above excursions that I have done, booking them from the hotel. Then going out at Naama Bay I realized that you could save a lot by booking excursions through other agencies. It seemed to me the most serious and valid Ciro & Felice. The "shop" is located in Naama Bay inside the shopping center that acts as a corner between the two main streets, you will surely find it. Here the excursions are really at a great price and what they offer is no more or less than what I found in the hotel.
Motorized in the desert. 2 hours of scooter in the desert for couples at € 15 per person.
Camel ride in the desert at sunset, 1 hour for € 15 per person.
Camel ride with Bedouin dinner under the stars for € 25 per person.
Abugalum and blue hole (the one you see in a well-known advertisement for watches in Italy, if I remember correctly) camel ride, snorkling, Dahab city departing 7.30am, return 17pm including lunch and drinks at € 30 per person.
Colored Canyon, visit to the dolphin bay, Nuwieba, Dahab city, departure 7.30 am and return at 17 pm with lunch and drinks included for 30 €.
Santa Caterina, visit the monastery and church and visit Dahab, same time as above with same price.
Mount Mose and Santa Caterina, departure at 22pm and return at 14pm the following day including entrance ticket, breakfast and drinks at € 30 per person.
Great Safari, to do everything in one day. Departure at 7am and return at 18pm for € 40 per person to see Santa Caterina, Colored Canyon, the bay of the dolphin and the city of Dahab.
Among boat excursions, to be reported Tiran Island, departure at 8 am and return at 17 pm for € 20 per person, snorkelling in three different places.
If you want to do some more substantial excursions, like the Cairo that I did and I highly recommend, here are others:
Cairo by coach, Egyptian museum, pyramids, sphinx and old market, food and drink departure at 1am and return at 24pm.
Cairo 2 days, same things to see as the one day program, plus a visit to the citadel, main Islamic and Christian monuments, overnight stay in a 4-star hotel for 110 €.
Cairo by plane (given that by bus it takes 6 hours to go and 6 hours to return) for 130 € with 45 minutes by plane, departure at 7 and return at 21 even if the visit includes the same things as the bus.
Luxor by plane, 45 minutes departing at 7 am and returning at approximately 21 pm and visit to the main monuments of Ancient Egypt all for € 135
City of Petra by boat with departure at 3 am and return at 23 pm for € 200 per person. Visit of the city and the famous tombs built in the mountain, the colored Grand Canyon of the Nabatin people with the ancient system of irrigation and water conservation.
Jerusalem 160 € per person with a visit to the city of Nazareth, Bethlehem, the Mount of Olives, the wailing wall, the Dead Sea. The departure is at 2 and the return at 24.
What excursions have you already done? Which ones didn't impress you or which would you do again? Let me know with a blog comment.
