New York's High Line Park is a raised railroad that has been refurbished, starting in 2009, and has become a full-fledged park. We recommend that you take a tour to get a new view of New York, but also to see something truly extraordinary.
Still little known by tourists and frequented mostly by the younger inhabitants of New York, theHigh Line Park it is a park built in place of a disused railway. It stretches for more than a kilometer from the Gansevoort Street to 30th. The alleged demolition of the West Side Line, the elevated railway section that connected New York to the border with New Yersey, led to the establishment of an association in 1999, "Friends of High Line", and the latter proposed the redevelopment of the promenade.
The first section of the park was opened on June 9 2009, the last one was inaugurated precisely two years later. The park is open from 7.30 in the morning to 17.00 in the afternoon.
Over time, the High Line Park has become a real community. On the official website, in addition to an updated blog, the agenda of events and an online shop, a new section dedicated to gardening has been opened. "Ask a gardener"in fact, it is a sort of participatory project in which “Friends of High Line” make their resources available so that anyone can be the owner of a “linear garden”.
