How to fly with Tap Portugal, the main destinations, the air fares for Portugal and the rest of the world, but not only the services and offers for sportsmen.
I found out Tap Portugal in my trip to Lisbon, in Portugal, just a few weeks ago. I was surprised not so much by the type of services that the airline offers, but by the type of offers, for all budgets and for all "sports" that can be enjoyed while traveling with Tap Portugal.
Offers all year round
With Tap Portugal you can take advantage of direct flights from Rome, Milan, Bologna and Venice towards Lisbon, starting from 109€, all-inclusive return fare in any month of the year. But not only that, all rates include meal on board, hold baggage for a maximum of 23 kg and a maximum of 8 kg for hand luggage. Plus, online check-in and mobile check-in for 72 hours up to 90 minutes before flight departure, with a boarding pass to be printed or shown on a mobile device. Tap Portugal also has a free app for info on your chosen flight and destination e automatic notifications via e-mail and sms on purchased flights.
It's not over yet! In addition to the prices just indicated, on the site FlyTap seasonal promotions are chasing each other, relating to offers on services and main or peak destinations.
Offers for sportsmen
The Portuguese company flies to some of the most popular destinations for sportsmen and women surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing. Bringing your sports equipment by plane is not easy or cheap at all, which is why Tap Portugal activates promotions seasonally, called promo surf to allow travelers to have significant discounts.
The airline has long been surf-friendly, guaranteeing for example the free transport your own surfboard, windsurf and kitesurf board for the outward portion of the trip.
Flying in pregnancy
Since my experience was that of flying with Tap Portugal while I was pregnant, I can only write a few words on this aspect as well. For the Portuguese airline, you can travel freely up to the 28th week of pregnancy, after which the company requests a medical certificate stating the week of gestation, the day of the expected date of delivery and a certificate from the doctor in which it is emphasized that the woman is in good physical shape and incurs no danger during the flight.
Personally, even if you fly before the end of 28 weeks, I recommend that you still get a medical certificate stating the week of pregnancy you are in, obviously with a signature and date of issue of the certificate. So there should be no problems during the outward and return flights.
Not just Portugal
What I thought of Tap Portugal, before flying together and before getting to know it a little better, was that this company flew only or almost exclusively to Portugal and a few other destinations. Mistaken! Tap Portugal operates yes approx 100 weekly flights to Portugal, offering comfortable internal movements to discover the variety of the country, but also has destinations such as the archipelago of Azores e Madeira Island, the "Pearl of the Atlantic".
But not only that, Tap Portugal has received 3 awards at the WTA, the tourism oscars: European Leading Airline for South America, European Leading Airline for Africa.
