Leonardo's world is the title of the exhibition that the Republic of San Marino dedicates to the Tuscan genius with a collection of works, projects and drawings never seen before. The event started on November 15th and will be open until March 16 2014, involving different places in the historic center. The location allows you to walk and visit San Marino historic sites, which have become locations of excellence to accommodate machines, interactive and multimedia stations. The variety of the artist's studies allows fans of different subjects to become passionate about his works: science, botany, mechanics, engineering, painting ... there is something for everyone!
Starting from Kursaal Congress Center, open from Sunday to Thursday from 10 to 18 and on Fridays and Saturdays until 22 and located right next to a parking lot, you can start by visiting the hub of the exhibition: cars, codes and art. In addition to the grandiose reconstruction of theLast Supper that reveals the original colors that have been lost over the centuries, you can browse through the Time Machine, the Robot Soldier and the various manuscripts on the various arts studied by Leonardo. The various didactic laboratories are held here.
You can then continue towards State Museum, where the alleged youthful self-portrait and the famous one are exhibited Self-portrait, on display with the exclusive Hyper View technology: multimedia is an aspect that the fitters take great care of. The space is open from Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 17.
Then you reach the nearby Piazza del Pianello, symbol of San Marino, where in Government Palace, you can preview one of Leonardo's most curious works: the Mechanical Lion, commissioned by the King of France and unfortunately lost. The reconstruction was carried out following the artist's projects in detail and still represents a testimony of the scientist's ingenuity. The Palace is open, subject to availability, from Monday to Sunday from 10am to 17pm.
It is then the turn of the towers and going up from the streets behind the square, we will soon arrive at the First Tower, the Guaita, where the exhibition will have as its theme Flight and Painting, subjects in which Leonardo was able to contribute in an excellent way. Alla Second Tower, the Cesta, the reconstruction of the Quick-loading crossbow, an invention never presented to the public. In both cases the opening hours to the public are from Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 17.
The exhibition is therefore the conclusion of in-depth studies on Leonardo da Vinci and offers works by the artist never seen before, both on the artistic and on the scientific front. The multimedia stations in 3d they allow to control the machines in person, to intervene on the works and on the codes, interacting in a virtual way. Precisely for this reason, the event is also suitable for children, who will have fun trying out war machines and rudimentary airplanes.
The full ticket costs 12 €, but there are discounts for students, groups and children, while admission is free for children under 6. There is also the option of combining it with the writer Eron's exhibition, which is exhibited until January 12 at Palazzo Sums. The ticket can also be purchased online.
