- Universal Studios Hollywood are one of the unmissable destinations of Los Angeles. Immersed in the hollywood hills, the amusement park dedicated to cinema is a reference point for all fans, young and old. Reaching it from Downtown Los Angeles is very simple: the Red Line of the subway will take you directly from the city center to the Universal City stop, where there will then be a free shuttle of the park that will lead you to the homonymous complex of themed shops and cinemas that precedes the entrance to the real Studios.
The pride of the park is the Studios tour: a path lasting 40 minutes about which will allow you to see the territory of the studios and witness some demonstrations of the techniques used during the filming, such as torrential rain, explosions, the tricks used to control cars in Fast and Furious and a demonstration of a subway accident. In addition to this, the tour route will allow you to literally go through entire original sets such as the hotel in Norman Bates in Phsyco Wisteria Lane by Desperate Housewives with the real houses of the protagonists, the land of Chinonso (the village of the Grinch), a reproduction of a street in New York, and the set of one of the scenes from War of the Worlds that boasts an original boeing. Perhaps the most exciting moment of the tour is the attraction within the attraction King Kong 360 3D where you can literally experience the cinema by being involved in a close encounter with the king of gorillas. The show, already thrilling in itself, is even more special knowing that it was carefully created by Peter Jackson. Unfortunately the tour is only in English or Spanish, but emotions are guaranteed anyway.
The park boasts a wealth of activities to entertain guests. I advise you to organize the visit to the attractions based on the shows that will take place during the day, so as not to miss any. You can't miss i Blues Brothers and I really recommend getting into the amazing world of the ogre Shrek, passing at the same time for the Hollywood animal show and for WaterWorld. Finally, make sure you don't miss the adrenaline-pumping experience dedicated to Transformers and the terrifying journey through House of Horrors.
Also take some time to wander through the little shops and streets of the park, where you can admire the perfection of the settings. Since a normal visit takes a full day, there are plenty of them refreshment points scattered along the route, which will satisfy every palate thanks to the variety of exercises present. A tip then is to visit the park during the holidays: you will have the opportunity to admire it all decorated.
The park is open every day from 10.00 to 17.00. Admission to Universal Studios is not exactly low cost. It starts from a price of $ 80 each for the day, $ 89 for two days with the possibility, at a higher cost, to purchase tickets that will guarantee you priority access to the attractions or a VIP experience with activities not allowed to other visitors. It must also be said that for a price of $ 99 you can buy the annual pass, you never know you like it so much that you will return!
