Summer means also music and the old continent every year makes a large number of festivals where to listen to great artists, meet people and visit new places. For the more intrepid, low cost flights are a solution to get around and enjoy as many festivals as possible. Here are the musical events from August until the end of summer.
Rock en Seine Festival
Who wants to take advantage of the flights to Paris found by Skyscanner, from 26 28 to August at Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, a few kilometers from the French capital, the Rock en Seine Festival takes place. Established in 2003, it quickly became the largest French rock festival and this year hosts the likes of foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, The Kills, Deftones, My Chemical Romance and many others.
Reading and Leeds Festival
England has always been home to some of the most important groups in the history of music and they could not be missing 2 festivals, which will take place from 26 to 28 August in Reading and Leeds. Among others, Offsprings, My Chemical Romance, Thirty Seconds To Mars and Deftones.
Rototom Sunspash
It once took place in Italy, but last year it emigrated with its organizers to Spain. The Rototom Sunspash is one of the most important reggae festival to the world and takes place from 18 to 27 August 2011 in Benicàssim, about 1 hour by car from Valencia, by train or by organized bus. Ticket prices vary from 28 to 103 euros per day depending on whether you want to buy only the entrance to the festival or even the overnight at the campsite.
Sziget Festival
It will take place from 8 to 15 August 2011 in the very green Obuda island, just two kilometers from the center of Budapest. Big names from the international music scene such as Gogol Bordello, Interpol, Rise Against, Chemical brothers, Goran Bregovic, Gotan Project, Skunk Anansie, Judas Priest, Motorhead and the Italians Verdena. From the site it is possible to purchase subscription tickets, travel packages and camper passes for access to specially prepared areas.
I-Day Festival
To round off the summer perhaps within the Italian borders, we recommend the I-Day Urban Festival a Bologna, on 3 and 4 September. Here the Arctic Monkeys, Simple Plan and Offspring.
