When people ask me what area of London I live very few people know where Camberwell is, but as soon as I mention Brixton then the situation changes and I often see unconvinced expressions.
Il south London carries with it a reputation that is not at all positive, yet, for me who live there and who have spent the last four years, it remains one of the places where I left my heart, and lately I am having the opportunity to discover it more and more.
In particular I am attending the Brixton Market and its restaurants, as well as one of the clubs that surprised me the most in recent months, giving me a lot of interesting evenings, especially thanks to the quality of the live music offered.
THEHootananny it is a particular place, inside it has the structure of a typical English pub, wooden counter, round tables and candles that give a relaxed atmosphere, but it offers much more than a simple pub, in fact it is famous throughout London (and beyond) for the evenings of live music that are regularly proposed, hosting the emerging bands, and not only, of the capital.
In 2010 he was appointed "Best live music pub in UK", while in 2011 it was recognized as the "Best music venue" in London.
Il live program is very rich, and every evening a number of artists alternate on stage who will surprise you not a little if you are looking for some goodies that only London can give.
Moreover, during the summer season it remains one of my favorite places to go to because it offers a large open space in which to enjoy the mild evenings that London occasionally allows.
