The London capital certainly does not sin for the variety and quantity of attractions and this certainly leads to wandering a lot, especially on foot, and arriving almost exhausted at dinner time. That's why one of the things to definitely do when spending a weekend in London is to sit in one of its many theaters where you can listen to one of the very famous musicals that the capital offers.
I London musical most followed are certainly “Mamma mia”, whose advertising posters are really everywhere, “The Lion King” a classic and “Billy Elliot” for connoisseurs. Actually find the tickets for the evening it is almost impossible: seats must be booked a few days in advance and in any case the costs are not at all contained.
The advice is to look out in one of the many box office really located in every corner (you will notice them thanks to the posters of the various musicals) asking if they have any places in promotion. Personally, at the exit of the British Museum I found a small box office, practically inside a shop that sold nice souvenirs, where I could see the wide range of musical in programming (even the Spice Girls have a musical dedicated to them) and thanks to the precious help of the saleswoman at the desk I chose to relive the deeds of the Beatles. After all we are in London and I think these British legends have a predominant place in the myth of English music.
After all, you can also choose the musical to see considering the theater in which you are located, it will be a very pleasant break before dinner that will allow you to rest but at the same time to have atruly London experience.
But back to the Beatles musical from the title of their famous song “Let it be”, I would define it more as a concert show that faithfully traces the stages of the “Fab4” from their origins to their latest songs. The interpreters, four really talented guys disguised as real Beatles, play almost non-stop for about two and a half hours in the famous Savoy theater, attached to the equally famous Hotel Savoy, which alone is worth the ticket for the show.
Il concert is really engaging and makes you think you are attending a real Beatles concert with costumes perfectly inspired by the various periods crossed by the group. From helmets and elegant black dresses, to hippie flower child costumes, in short, a journey into the music of those years that captivates those who lived those years but also the youngest who grew up with their myth, and in any case do not worry, you will surely be fascinated by the location and captured by the rhythm of these fabulous guys who know how to involve the whole audience. I assure you that you will not remain seated in the armchairs for a long time.
Small note on the cost: the seats I booked were very central and more or less in the fifteenth row, it could be seen very well and the cost is certainly low when compared to other musicals in circulation, 45 pounds, but it's worth them all!
