London and Time Out, a historical magazine

It was the distant 1968 when the weekly Time-out began his own publications. Initially the magazine was very sparse, it seemed more a simple list of some events in the city; then, over time, it has become a real institution and now, for many, it is considered a must from which they cannot ignore when organizing their travel itinerary.

When I get to London, even I never fail to buy it to check cultural events, concerts, restaurants and shops that might pique my interest. The weekly comes out on Wednesday and is considered by many to be the best of its kind for the reliability of the news and the quantity of it, ranging from political, cultural and gastronomic news. You will come across the section relating to books, to that relating to theater, cinema, sport and a part is even dedicated to the world of children.
This week we talk about the annual December open-air plunge, where the brave participants will be rewarded with a curious hat, meat pies and, above all, with a great sense of personal satisfaction; but did you know that participants will pay a whopping 15 pounds, while at audience will only a small offer be asked?

There is also an article on the latest gigantic sculpture by Antony Gormley, which can be visited both externally and from the inside. It is located at the center of his new exhibition at White Cube Bermondsey and it is said that entering the sculpture itself does not create problems of claustrophobia, as it may seem, because, despite the low ceilings and somewhat dark passages, there are unexpected openings which illuminate some areas, thus giving the idea of greater space and surrounding air: the particularity of the work is precisely this, to create in the visitor feelings of calm and discomfort at the same time.

We then talk about the three days of Christmas market, with street food, local beers, live music and gift stalls. Seven chefs will compete in a burger battle on Saturday afternoon.
There is much more and I always recommend that you take a look at the magazine for news but also to get inspired with some ideas for your strolls maybe a little different from the usual or, at least, different from your initial plans. The magazine now also has a 'application on iPhone and iPad and I assure you that many use it for its convenience.
