If you have gods children, sooner or later the catchphrase of the playground or thematic will start. Some parents love these places, I don't much. So to amortize a trip that is not at all low cost, a choice that was pleasant even for someone like me is Legoland, which in its original location is in Denmark, a bit far to go there specifically from Italy. A good alternative is Legoland in Bavaria, which can be combined with a visit to some beautiful places.
The town that hosts Legoland Deutschland is Gunzburg, and the park has brought her not a little notoriety. Legoland is located not far from the center, it is very well signposted; it is built entirely in Lego but otherwise it is a playground like many others, with wheels, roller coasters, water games, and a more "museum" area if you can say so where entire cities are rebuilt with the famous bricks, with incredible perfection and accuracy of detail. Entrance to the park is quite expensive, per day 39,50 adults and 35 children from 3 to 11 years. But by buying online first, you save 25% of the cost of the ticket; the site where to buy is www.legoland.de (also in English and Spanish version).
As for Günzburg it is a quiet town between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, in a region on the Danube which is part of Swabia.
Its quiet history has been clouded by the fact that it was the birthplace of Josef Mengele, the atrocious Nazi doctor.
Günzburg is located at the same distance from Ulm and Augsburg, two beautiful cities to visit. The historic center of Günzbrg is closed to traffic, with many restaurants and in summer it is enlivened by an outdoor music festival. The local specialty is the Spaetzle, kind of large coarse spaghetti that are prepared with onion and melted cheese (Käsespätzle); they serve them in industrial quantities with a side salad and they are a real goodness.
