We all know that Oktoberfest is celebrated in Munich, we probably all know where to stay low cost and which beers to choose. But how to get to the party, here are the directions for Theresienwiese.
We all now know how many liters of beer are consumed every year atOktoberfest, like how much the mugs cost or how many attractions there are. But once you've booked your trip to Munich, how do we get to the party Here is how to get there easily without missing a single beer. Oops, one minute.
Theresienwiese is the public space in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district and is famous because between September and October it always hosts the seat of the most famous beer festival in Germany and in the world: the Oktoberfest. Here you will find the main attractions, the beer stands but also the Ferris wheel, the bumper cars, the rides and the stalls selling pretzels and much more. Everything about Oktoberfest in Munich can be found at the Theresienwiese.
Theresienwiese, the place where there are the stands of Bavarian breweries, is easily accessible from the center of Munich with the subway. The lines U4 e U5 stop at Theresienwiese station and the nearby station Schwanthalerhöhe. The lines U3 e U6 stop at the stations of Goetheplatz and Poccistrasse. The subway is a really good way as it is during the Oktoberfest days closes at 2 at night .
I only took it the first time that I went to Oktoberfest since the second time I had the hotel so close that I could easily walk. The first time I arrived early in the morning and I must say that yes, there were people, but not a lot. Very different speech for the evening instead, the subway was packed. In Munich for the occasion they had put several carriages available plus, also because when I went it was the last day of the party and there were many, many people around.
All in all the experience went well, I think the subway trains were enough for everyone, they were clean and punctual. Eventually I arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night, but during Oktoberfest this is completely normal!
La S-Bahn, the suburban railway and in particular the lines from S1 a S8 stop at Hackerbrücke station. In this case the line also closes very late, the last runs leave after 2 am.
The subway is the only means that I recommend you take if you have taken an apartment or hotel in another part of the city of Munich. Of course, I do not advise you to drive any means after this party and to take expensive taxis, unless you are 4 and you do not have to go relatively close, and which in any case will be almost all booked.
