La Brandenburg Gate a Berlin it was built between 1788 and 1791 according to the plans of Carl Gotthard Langhaus. During the division of Germany and the city of Berlin, the gate represented precisely the division between the two parts, while since the fall of the Berlin Wall, then since 1989 the gate has had a unifying function and has been elected as a symbol of this new era.
The door was inspired by the ancient Acropolis of Athens in fact, on both sides there are six Doric columns that support the transverse beam and create 5 passages. Since October 2002, the Brandenburg Gate has been closed to car, bus and taxi traffic.
The Brandenburg Gate is one of the most important symbols of the city so much so that events are often organized here, here most of the tourists who want a souvenir photo of the holiday. The Brandenburg Gate is definitely bigger than what you see in the photo. If you want to admire it a bit, sit at one of the small tables of the Starbucks Caffè which is right in front of the door, if you have it from your back, the Starbucks will be on your left. To the sunset this door is a sight!
