A budget hotel in Vienna for both summer stays and Christmas Markets. The Hotel is located above the Messe Prater metro stop and is recommended all year round, here is the review of the structure.
I always thought that Vienna was a very expensive city and what for sleeping in Vienna there was a need for a lot of money. Unfortunately, I was only focusing on two options, relatively expensive hotels and hostels. I hadn't considered the chain instead Motel One. When I went to Vienna in December, practically on one of the weekends before Christmas, I could see that hotels are not that expensive, if you know how to choose.
Motel One in Vienna
The Motel One chain of hotels has three hotels in the city of Vienna alone, many others in Austria and Germany. Specifically, I slept in Hotel Motel One Wien Prater therefore right in the Prater area of Vienna.
What immediately comes to mind is: yes, but the Prater is not really in the historic center, how did you reach the places you wanted to visit in a short time? Just below the hotel is the metro stop Messe Prater. When I say under the hotel it means right under the hotel, about 15 meters from the exit / entrance of my Motel One is the subway entrance. An incredible convenience, especially if you go like me in the winter and don't want to walk too cold between one trip and another.
The Hotel is part of a very interesting chain, the colors and the distinctive features they are the same in all structures: the blue, the velvet, the fact that the rooms are very easy but still comfortable, are a feature of the Motel One.
La hall of my Hotel Motel One Wien Prater it is very welcoming with large sofas, armchairs and an area that becomes in the morning breakfast room. It is possible to eat directly on the sofas or armchairs. The breakfast is purely salty, in an Austrian / German style, even if there are sweet things for Italians like us who cannot give up brioche in the morning. Forget the cappuccino and the coffee instead, there is only that of the machine, but that's okay too.
The staff is very kind and helpful, they don't speak Italian, only English, but they make themselves understood very well and you shouldn't encounter any kind of problem.
Rooms
Mine chamber it was on the second floor, very warm and clean. The distinctive colors also in this case are that of blue and white, on the wall a TV that if switched off reproduces the sounds and shapes of a lit fireplace. Falling asleep with this sound in the evening was something romantic about it. In the room, in addition to the bed, with the classic "German" duvets, there is also a desk, an armchair and a chair. The bathroom is small, but equipped with all accessories with two towels each. Overall a beautiful property.
A low cost solution
Prices. Prices obviously vary from the time of year, but having slept there over a weekend at Christmas I can say that the structure is low cost.
The Hotel I recommend it at all times of the year, especially in summer because the breakfast room extends into the patio in front of the hotel which has a small garden and outdoor armchairs. The advice for those who want a convenient location to reach, even for the airport and want to spend the right amount exploring Vienna.
