If you want to spend a pleasant day with your children, a fun and educational solution is called Zoological Garden of Pistoia, the ideal place to meet, learn and protect numerous animal species!
Given that I was skeptical on visiting a zoo, as I don't like the idea of seeing animals in cages, I must say that I was positively impressed by this well-kept, clean and capable of transmitting a sense of joy.
One is distributed at the entrance detailed map of the circuit where all the animal positions are indicated. Each is marked with explanatory signs that describe its characteristics, attitudes, origin and tell some curiosities.
The animals are well cared for, clean and the space available to them is large enough.
Since this year, specimens of Marsican brown bear from Abruzzo thus contributing to a conservation program for the species, while the three polar bears were transferred to as many European zoos to form new pairs.
Among the cutest animals there are certainly the lemurs (you can go directly into their aviary and see them perform somersaults over your head), le giraffe (very sweet) and the splendid tigers.
Admission is by € 15 for adults, children under 3 years enter for free, while those up to 10 years pay € 11. For large families, I recommend bringing a packed lunch to be consumed on one of the many tables inside the zoo and save a little something, since the bar is a bit expensive.
For a complete visit (including stop at the indoor playground and lunch) I recommend to consider at least 4 hours.
