You know the Carinthia? It is an Austrian region that borders on Friuli, is known for being the sunniest part of Austria and a fantastic spa area. The place I'm talking about is called Bad Kleinkirchheim, it's small, famous for its thermal baths and very, very relaxing. Also very popular with Italians, however the atmosphere remains "typically Austrian" even in the high ski season, no chaos of cars, little nightlife, lots of sport and atmosphere. Well, Bad Kleinkirchheim has some amazing hot water spas, one is called St. Kathrein and the other is Römerbad, my favorite. It consists of a large indoor swimming pool, with water features, whirlpools, waterfalls and connected to an outdoor pool where you can stay immersed even in the dark, even with the snow falling among the steam fumes.
The mountains all around are i Nockberge. The spa tradition is historical and there is still an establishment in the Karl bad mountains, where the typicality is to offer spa treatments as in the seventeenth century. Did I make you want? I have been there both in summer when everything is green and greener than in winter, when the watchword is: von den Pisten zu den Thermen that is, with the Skipass you can also access the two establishments as soon as the lifts close or you will be tired of skiing. Furthermore, very technical sportswear shops, cafes, typical restaurants, pastry shops, everything you need is concentrated around the ski lifts that start right behind the spa, on the main street of Bad Kleinkirchheim. With a cable car you go up to the Kaiserburg, and then slopes!
A few meters from the plants and spas there is also a small condominium where you can rent an apartment, named after it Tosca houses. There are three apartments of different sizes in a Carinthian house managed by an Italian lady, therefore easily contactable even by those who do not chew German. The apartment solution is excellent with small children or to independently manage schedules and meals - there is no shortage of well-stocked supermarkets here. It goes without saying that comfort is total, as often happens in the mountains, wood, warm environments, duvets, plus other useful elements such as a place for skis, parking. You will practically never take the car, just cross the road to get ski rental and school, facilities, cross-country track and the spa.
