Café Leopold Hawelka it is located in Dorotheergasse 6 in the center and is open from 8 in the morning until 2 in the morning, it is closed on Tuesdays and often closes throughout the month of July.
This coffee was born in 1905 and it has been run by the same family since 1939. The appearance is not the best, it appears a bit old especially because of its red curtains, but it has seen many famous and historical characters pass through it. The clientele today is mainly made up of journalists, writers, artists and students. Excellent coffees, it would be impossible to say the opposite and his sweets, i Buchteln, to be ordered in the evening after 22 pm, hot just made and filled with cream.
Demel it is located in Kohlmarkt 14 and is open from 10 to 19. Its desserts are much better and cost around € 4, this place is considered the best pastry in the city. The setting is delightful, mirrors, gilding, crystal chandeliers and elaborate furniture.
At the entrance then you will find a small negotiation of gastronomic products. The cakes are delicious and their price is reasonable, but if you even want to have lunch be prepared for a hefty bill.
