Where to eat sacher torte in Vienna, where to find the best donuts and where to find them low cost. Here are three places I tried on my last trip to Vienna, read the review.
Who thinks that Vienna be alone Sacher coffee, I can say with absolute certainty that you are very wrong. If Hotel Sacher is a wonderful place, an elegant café with friendly staff and excellent cakes, it cannot be said differently of the many other cafes scattered around Vienna. Yes, that's right, there are tons of great coffees that I think are worth trying in Vienna. Among the many that I have tried, I suggest three (one of which, the Sacher Coffee, of course!) That in my opinion deserve a snack, or a breakfast, but also an after dinner.
Sacher Cafe
I went to Café Sacher after dinner, the first night in Vienna, I couldn't resist too much, I absolutely wanted to try this magical place, the realm of Sacher Torte. I must say that going there in the evening was a good choice, there was practically no one, nor the queue that instead I saw the days after it arrived right outside the door.
The Cafè Sacher is a café that is part of the homonymous hotel, a Very luxurious 5 star which is located in the center of Vienna. I only ordered a Sacher Torte and some water. The Sacher it left me a bit indifferent, let's say nothing new compared to those I had already eaten on other occasions, in short, nothing special, I must be honest. Cost of a Sacher, just under 5 €.
Demel
A real find. It is said that in Vienna it is Demel and the Café Sacher a contend for paternity of the creation of Sacher Torte. So I couldn't help but try both places and both Sacher. The venue is magnificent, a three-story building, lots of tables and it becomes, incredible atmosphere, a notch more than the Sacher Cafè in my opinion, much smaller and with crowded tables.
From Demel I got a mini Sacher Torte and a mini Brauner, a double coffee with cream and cream. I don't remember the exact cost unfortunately, but for a mini sacher, a brauner, a glass of wine and a slice of strudel, I paid a total of € 13.10. In my opinion the figure is not exaggerated compared to the prices in Vienna and then the place seriously deserves for the courtesy of staff and the beauty of the interior.
Aida
Another great find in Vienna. Aida is one coffee chain, there are about 30 cafes throughout Vienna and Austria, very pretty and original. Aida struck me because she tries to unite different eras, yes that's right. Modern with very affordable prices, the donuts have interesting promotions from time to time, I only paid 1 € mine, 50s setting with waitresses dressed in pink and a simple but impactful design and the very good cakes typical of the Viennese tradition, but with something more, with more colors and hearts above all.
At the end of it all I think I was pleasantly struck by the two places I didn't know or knew less, while the much acclaimed Cafè Sacher left me a little more indifferent. Going back I would certainly prefer Aida, very easygoing and colorful and then Demel. If it is your first time in Vienna, I recommend you try them all, you always have time to say "I prefer the other".
