I have been to Frituur No 1 ad Antwerp for lunch. It's not like this is the best place to eat as everything (and I mean everything) is fried, but ...my god how good it is! This little shop / kiosk is practically on the road. You can see that it was born without too many pretensions but then thanks to its indisputable success it had to expand.
To the side of the showcase from which orders are taken and the steaming portions of fried food there are two indoor rooms with benches and tables, and a bathroom, where you can lean on to better enjoy the chips. The cost of a portion of French fries is low, about 3.50 € for the big fries even if the sauces are charged also because here you will not find the classic mayonnaise and ketchup. Forget them. Here you will find the sauce Andalusian, in the photo the one on the left, slightly spicy and many others with paprika and onion.
By asking for help with the combination of sauces here at Frituur No 1 they will certainly be able to help you, as they did with me. In addition to fries you will find everything in the large showcase in Antwerp. Skewers of meat, balls of meat stuffed with onion and much more that is fried properly and served on napkins marked Frituur No 1. If you are nearby go there, please, your liver will probably not thank you but your palate yes, definitely!
Last thing, don't ask for French fries like I did, or you will hear the answer "we don't sell French fries here, but Belgian fries";)
