The city of bicycles of Amsterdam, it doesn't just ride pedals. Among the innovative services that the Dutch city has decided to use there is also Hopper, the new service of electric taxi-scooters which literally conquered the inhabitants of the city.
A new ecological means of transport, a low consumption and above all low cost will drive around the streets of Amsterdam at a very low cost, less than a bus cost which is about € 2.70 against 2.50€ of the ride in Hopper.
The Municipality of Amsterdam and the National Railways also participate in the project by financing it and the idea is to encourage people to use other alternative means of transport to the car and public transport that may be a little slower. Available at the moment approx 100 electric taxi-scooters that reach speeds of 25 kilometers / hour in the city, and travel up to 130 kilometers on a full tank. Each vehicle is driven by a driver who knows perfectly the streets of the historic city center of Amsterdam and is able to accompany the passenger to their destination as quickly as possible.
Just like a normal taxi you can use this service by calling 0900-8890 and making an appointment for the place and time established. Furthermore, you can also use the service in other ways, by downloading the application of the service on your smartphone, from the website www.myhopper.nl by means of a contact form, or as a normal taxi by stopping a Hopper on the free street. .
All these two-wheeled electric vehicles are equipped with Gps and during the winter the Hopper service is operational from 10 am to 18 pm. In case of bad weather the taxi-scooter service may be limited or not operational for safety reasons
