We are talking about the contest Best Jobs in the World, which we had already told you about, established byAustralian Tourist Office, which is giving away these fantastic jobs that look more like full-time vacations!
We thus have the pleasure of making ainterview with Valerio Cozzi, one of the possible (and we sincerely hope so) winners of one of the most beautiful works in the world! On April 24, the names of the 150 selected were published and there was even his name!
Valerio, introduce yourself:
I'm Valerio Cozzi, one of the 25 people competing for the position of Kangaroo Island keeper (Wildlife Caretaker)!
What will your work consist of?
The job would consist of touring the length and breadth of the Kangaroo Island and South Australia trying all possible tourist experiences, assisting tour guides and promoting understanding and appreciation of the natural environment of this area. It is a full-time promotion of tourism specific to the region that leads to experiences of all kinds including swimming with the white sharks, look closely i Sea lions, help the park rangers in the ordinary administration of the island, discover remote and wild areas to include them in new tourist itineraries! To do this, AU $ 100.000 (about € 80.000) is offered, half of the actual salary, half of the accommodation costs and what it may take to live the incredible experiences that will take place during the six months of work.
Since you knew you were chosen, what do you think?
When I learned of the contest there were already more than 300.000 registrations, so I had no faith in being selected, but I still couldn't resist and, even if at the last minute, I sent my video. Since they told me that I was selected I have not stopped being thrilled for a moment because the second part of the selection is to show the Commission that you can be "popular"! And I've never been a popularity seeker! For heaven's sake, I have a blog where I tell my life and travel experiences, but I never thought I could become an "influencer", a personality on the web and television!
Now what do you need to win?
I am doing everything to be among the three selected for the penultimate stage, which will consist of a week of talks in Australia! For this reason I opened one Facebook page, on the hunt for as many likes as possible and to show that I am the right person for them! Also I have to find a "high profile" person to act as my contact person: a person from the entertainment world? Sports? A university professor? I have no idea, but I only have until May 8 to show him my results and on the 15th the names of the finalists will be published!
It's an unprecedented adventure, a no holds barred contest, one of those once in a lifetime opportunities! Game to win!
