A Santa Maria Capua Vetere, a few km from Caserta, in the Campanian Amphitheater, second in size only to the Colosseum and most likely "used" as a model for the construction of the most famous Roman Amphitheater, a series of evening events called "Invade us under the sky of Spartacus".
With these evenings, theater and history will "unite" with the sole purpose of promoting a site unfortunately little known, but full of charm. And Spartacus, the most famous warrior and icon of ancient Capua, is the protagonist of some of the evenings (one this evening, July 26th) in which Peppe Barile tells of “the Spartacus war”.
The billboard is full, with an evening tomorrow, Saturday 27 July called "The nights of Spartacus", with extraordinary opening of the Amphitheater until 2.00 am, with narrated walks through history and light trails in the arena and underground. The evening will be re-proposed on August 24th.
The program for August also includes, for the other evenings of the 9th "Notes of history, stories of night", the concert of the Too Blue Duo, and for the evening of the 10, "With the nose up under the sky of Spartacus" , with guided and free observations of astronomy, in the arena where Spartacus fought, edited by Dr. Giuseppe Munno; moreover, on 23 August it will be possible to follow the performance of Peppe Barile who tells the story of "the Spartacus war".
An excellent start for the “relaunch and enhancement” operation of the archaeological site, located in a difficult area, but full of hopes and successful case histories. For anyone who wants to deepen and take a leap toCampanian Amphitheater in Santa Maria Capua Vetere for "Invadeteci under the sky of Spartacus" and even just for pay a visit, here insights into the city.
