Villa Tombolina it is one of those ancient buildings, little known, but really precious for the history that they keep inside. The villa was probably born in medieval times as farm, but it is in the eighteenth century that it took on the noble characteristics still visible today, with the private chapel dedicated to San Rocco and the adjacent farmhouse. Later it passed into the hands of powerful local families, until it became the summer residence of the Archbishops of Urbino, only to be abandoned at the end of the twentieth century and finally recovered today.
Deviating from the provincial road, take one country lane that climbs up a hill between vineyards and olive trees, up to the top, from which Villa Tombolina dominates the entire valley. Located in Montemaggiore al Metauro, the Widespread hotel is located in a strategic position to easily reach both the coast and Monte Conero, not to mention the famous Frasassi Caves, the Rocca di gradara and the wonderful villages that dot the Marche region: fossombrone, Cagli, Acqualagna and Pergola.
Inside the Villa are located four suites equipped with every comfort (including beautiful panoramic terraces and jacuzzi), nine other rooms are located inside the farmhouse, dating back to the sixteenth century and finally, for those who want more tranquility, a large three-room apartment is available inside the Villino della estate.
Villa Tombolina is also farm and offers its guests the opportunity to actively participate in countryside activities, directly collecting the products of the earth, among rows of grapes and olive groves. It is also possible to buy their products, such asextra virgin olive oil, wines and cured meats.
The experience of Villa Tombolina is located halfway between the simplicity of rural life and the luxury of the 700th century noble villa, in a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere, like that of the Alberghi Diffusi and in a naturalistic context of great suggestiveness.
