Actually when I thought about writing this post, I was afraid it would get too complicated and long. Then I opened my bank account, and in the face of the minutes it took me .. a post was essential !!
Before leaving I had made a lot of accounts on how to bring money and how to withdraw without an account. They told me that with the tourist visa the bank was not even remotely willing to open an account for me (with other visas that require permission to work, it's all simpler!). Let's dispel the myth that you can't do it with a tourist visa: it is enough not to have exceeded 6 weeks of stay in the country. A bank account opens and closes at no cost. Sorry to disappoint you but here no queues, bureaucracy and complications! To open an account the only thing to do is to choose the type and the bank. Personally, I did it at St. George, but one is as good as another, unless you have specific requests. Then equip yourself with:
1) passport
2) a minimum amount of money to deposit (even $ 20 is fine!)
3) a pin to memorize and a password to use for customer service recognition (I used a very funny one, don't fool like me!)
10 minutes, and go out with one ATM card and your working account (even on the internet !!!)
