Sir Lancelot is a Budapest pub where you can eat Hungarian specialties as if we were still in the Middle Ages. A place to dine with friends to have fun and eat really well.
I recently went to the beautiful Budapest and I must say that it is a city that has not disappointed me at all: large avenues, Christmas markets, excellent cuisine and above all a really liveable city.
As usual, before leaving I researched a lot, especially looking for some nice place to dine, the choice fell on Sir Lancelot in medieval style, very close to the Oktagon stop. Already the outside invites you to immerse yourself in this new epochal dimension and the welcome is no less. In fact, all the waiters and waitresses are dressed in typical period clothes (which I love) and the setting is really suggestive.
Stone walls, wooden tables, mugs in which to drink all kinds of drinks (wine, beer, water) will lead you to let yourself be captivated by the dessert music played by minstrels.
The menu obviously follows the tradition, the meat is definitely the main dish of this place: from chicken to pork shank, from duck to spicy goulash, you will be spoiled for choice. Being 5 of us, we took a super central plate of four, but that was actually perfect for the five of us, but at this point comes the fun.
They will bring you gods mega bibs and don't expect cutlery, you eat everything with your hands, so those who are too picky do not look right into the large binge room, because here you don't mess around. At the most you will be able to have a spoon, so leave your inhibitions and good manners at home and try it for once, you will feel really free.
To complete it all, do not miss the show that takes place every day in the room, in addition to the minstrels, alternating: fakirs, fire eaters, belly dancers and so on and so forth.
I highly recommend booking, considering that entering is the first thing we were asked (and it was a Monday) but above all you could end up next to strangers Oktoberfest style, but this makes the atmosphere even more special. Enter this new dimension and enjoy the "journey"!
