During my BcnLoveTour trip to Barcelona I let myself be tempted by an inviting excursion promoted by Excursiopedia, tapas tour. The tour started at 18pm and lasted about two hours even if our guide went over the times a bit, probably due to mega rain that hit us along the way. During the tour we have paths 4 tapas bars, some known in the city for being famous chains, others more hidden and decidedly local.
El Racò de la terra - the first stop was in a shop that sells typical Catalan products and that on the upper floor offers a space for dinners or aperitifs. Here we enjoyed our first ration of tapas. Bread, tomatoes Whole pieces to be cut at will and oil to make our ideal tapas. Plus we each had two tapas on our plate, one with tomato and one with anchovies. White and black wine at will.
Il second stop of tapas it was in a local bar in the streets of the center of Barcellone, I'm sorry I didn't memorize the name of the place precisely. Unfortunately the rain and the desire to taste new tapas have fooled me, forgive me! The local is open 24 hours a day and inside there are only locals, it is obvious. Here we tasted olives, the bomb, one potato ball, mayonnaise and lots of garlic and botifarra, a Catalan sausage.
In third tapas bar, the chain Bilbao with pinchos a 1,65€ we tasted two pinchos of your choice and a beer. The chain is very well known in the city, there are several points and the inhabitants of Barcelona seem to appreciate it as the place was very full. During the tour in this place we were not even able to sit down, but we stood there enjoying our morsels.
The last tapas bar is the one that I think is most worth trying even beyond the food tour. The place is called La Bombeta and it is located in Barceloneta in Carrer Maquinista, 3. Unfortunately, the venue does not have its own site. This place is quite rustic, no placemats and even rather rude staff but the dishes and the tapas proposals are valid, the most valid that I have tasted during the tour. Here I re-tasted the bomb, definitely excellent and better than the place before, degli salmon skewers smoked, a type of Catalan sausage and sausages with hot peppers. All delicious. Note: you don't pay with any credit card here, just cash!
Some notes on the guide: it is not true that he speaks Italian as it is described in his profile. He also seemed a little unprepared for the program he proposed to us. If you go for the tapas though, the amount is worth it :)
