The Andaman Islands are located in an area of the Indian Ocean south-east of the Bay of Bengal, south of Burma and west of Thailand.

How to reach the Andaman Islands and when to go
To reach the Andaman Islands you have to fly to Phuket; direct flights depart with the company Thai Airwaysalternatively you can take flights with several stopovers in Bangkok.
From the resort of Hat Khao Lak, 100 kilometers north of Phuket, you can take a speedboat that will reach the various islands. Often these islands are chosen only for daily visits, but it is worth stopping a few days to enjoy their beauty.
The Thai Andaman Islands can only be reached between November and April; from May to October it is not recommended due to the monsoons that do not allow connections.

Similan Islands
The Similan Islands they are among the best known of the Andaman Islands, are perfect for diving at all levels of experience, thanks to waters ranging from 2 to 30 meters depth. Here the beaches are talcum colored and the waters crystal clear. The Similan Islands are a marine park with huge boulders that sink into the sea: just think that two islands of the archipelago, Koh Payan and Koh Huyong, are inhabited only by sea turtles and closed to visitors.
Surin Islands
The Surin Islands archipelago is the farthest and most difficult to reach. It is a protected park and consists of 5 islands. These have an important rainforest and corners of white sand and crystal clear water.
Here you can stay in a tent or in a bungalow, which must be booked well in advance as they are in high demand, but very few. The coral reefs of the Surin Islands are shallow and perfect for snorkeling, even for those who are not so familiar with the sea.
