Where to eat the cheapest falafel in Tel Aviv

When I am around a foreign city I like to be carried away by the smells of local cuisine that pervade the streets of the center and the markets. TO Tel Aviv there are kiosks where you can purchase a kebab (in Israel it's called Schwarma, if you ask for a kebab they'll give you a skewer of spiced meatballs!) falafel, a lafa. The premises are always open and you can eat at any time of day or night.

Strolling from Carmel market to Dezingoff Square, I came across a falafel stand. One of many around, but with a perennial tail on the outside. I approached and discovered the reason: the price! You can buy a falafel sandwich for the cost of 6 schekel (which corresponds to approximately 1,2 euros), while the average price that is around is 3 euros. And so I queued too. And it was worth it. The falafel, of the fried meatballs of chickpea flour, parsley and spices, are hot, just fried. The pita (the sandwich that contains them) is fresh and fragrant. The salads and tahini (the sesame sauce) top it all off. Often these kiosks have a small oven where they also produce bread by hand.

So I would say that a falafel sandwich constitutes a completely alternative Vegetarian food especially appreciated by Jews, who cannot mix milk-based and meat-based foods by religion, and find the perfect snack in falafel. You just have to try. I remind you the name of the place and the address. Ratzon Falafel, King George, 16, Tel Aviv
