Surfing on one of the largest lakes in Finland on a steamboat? Sure you can.
Il Saimaa lake is located in the center of the Finnish territory, in the best known lakes region. Not only can you admire its vastness from its shores but you can also cross it aboard a steaming steamboat sent to wood. I guarantee you that the emotion is guaranteed!
When I was a child, I came across these smoking boats for the first time that already seemed ancient to me thirty years ago. Even today you can find several that plow what is the largest Finnish lake (the 4th in Europe), with over 15 km of coastline and 13 islets.
So, thanks to the Finnish tourism promotion channel visitfinland.com I found this very nice video that maybe can help you imagine what it is to be in Finland and maybe in the summer. I, on the other hand, have gone back in time ... for a few minutes.
Ari and his boat Antero (Andrea). Interpret this short post as, "Finland is not just snow!"
