Where to sleep in Brittany, the review of two chambre d'hotes, one in Châteauneuf-du-Faou and the other in Guignen. The reviews of the two bed and breakfasts to sleep well and spend the right amount.
One of the things I like most when I travel is to stay in bed and breakfasts, or whatever they are called in France: chambre d'hotes. So I happened to stay in two beautiful chambre d'hotes during my last trip to Brittany, so wonderful that I decided to talk about them here to recommend them as I have already done with friends or other travelers I met along the way.
Anyone who has already stayed in a chambre d'hotes in France knows very well what I mean. Welcoming and kind people, you live in the home of these people who, when it's okay, share common spaces with you. These two structures that I am about to present to you impressed me a lot, each for a different reason, the first for the extreme familiarity and hospitality, we missed it so much and I felt at home even going to dinner in their kitchen, the second structure because it is very beautiful, with many services and a super breakfast.
Au fil de l'Au
It is located in a small town, in Châteauneuf-du-Faou precisely. Au fil de l'Au is a beautiful house run by a family that has three children and a dog, Glen, a very sweet Labrador. The house is beautiful, nothing more can be said. Very large, with a small entrance garden and a large garden behind the house complete with a vegetable garden, a swing and two wooden tables, one for family dinners and one for guests. We stopped there one evening to eat a pizza that we got in a nearby restaurant.
The dining room is very large, a lounge and a long table where all guests have breakfast together in the morning. You chat, you enjoy the crepes, the owners are very discreet and they come in from time to time just to find out if all is well, otherwise they retire to their rooms. On the first floor they are located four rooms for guests, each with a private bathroom, our room was the only one with a small terrace on the entrance to the estate. On the top floor the rooms reserved for the family.
Personally I highly recommend this chambre d'hotes, it really impressed me and found it adorable, how adorable was the room and bathroom, all delightfully perfect. I would go back tomorrow.
Cruche
A chambre d'hotes located in Guignen, indeed just outside. Compared to the first, Cruche, it is a b & b that is located in a more isolated position from the country in which it is located, but this is not bad indeed. On the site you can also find the prices for those who want to totally relax themselves massages and jacuzzi surrounded by greenery of Brittany. Here you are staying in small houses detached from the main house, therefore independent in all respects, with a separate key, but in the morning we have breakfast together in the house with the owner.
I must say that the solution of practically living in a separate house but still pampered and spoiled with super breakfasts, I really liked it. There is a very beautiful air here, it will be for the animals, the hens and the goats that are here, or for the many games made available to the children in the large garden. The houses are meticulous in detail and very clean. I liked the decor and the location, as it was so close to visiting three villages that I liked most in Brittany.
