THEChamps-Elysees avenue is one of the widest and most majestic avenues of Paris. Originally there were some simple fields here, up to 1616, when Maria de 'Medici decided to have a long tree-lined path built there.The Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous streets in the world and the name refers to the Champs-Elysees, the kingdom of the dead in Greek mythology. The avenue is 1.910 long and cross theVIII arrondissement, in the northwestern part of Paris, from the Place de la Concorde in the east, with its obelisk, to the Place Charles de Gaulle in the west, where the Arc de Triomphe is located, forming part of the historical Axis line.
