Our travel between Jordan and Israel starts from a Milan-Tel Aviv flight paid round trip only 132 € with EasyJet. Landed late in the evening we immediately rented a small car to be able to move freely in the country.
Car prices are around € 250 per week for a Kia Picanto and 3000km at the airport Sixt. So if there are at least four of them it's about € 80 each and it's definitely acceptable
Il cost of gasoline then it is about 1,2 € per liter.
For the first and last night in Tel Aviv we were guests of friends.
Tel Aviv - first day
The first day we dedicated it to the north of the country, starting from Tel Aviv we visited:
-Haifa: Bahai gardens
-Nazareth: Basilica of the Annunciation
-Lake Tiberias
In the evening we arrived in Jerusalem passing through the Palestinian territories.
We settled at the New Swedish Hostel for a figure of approximately 10 € per night per person.
Our presence was in concomitance of the carnival, a very heartfelt celebration in Israel and especially in Jerusalem, where there was a flood of people on the street to celebrate and dance.
Jerusalem - second day
The beauties of Jerusalem are incredible and there are so many things to see and do. But is it possible to see Jerusalem without spending a single euro? Yes, it is possible, we have visited:
-Holy Sepulcher
-Via Crucis (Via Dolorosa)
-Visit and get lost in the Arab quarter
-Eat shawarma and falafel with a few euros
-Jewish Quarter and Western Wall
-Mount of olive trees
Bethlehem - third day
With a taxi we visited Bethlehem accompanied by a guide provided by the friendly taxi driver. All at the figure of about 30 €.
In the afternoon visit to Yad Vashem, holocaust museum, compulsory stop, free entry.
Masada - fourth day
The third day in Jerusalem lasted the time to realize that the queue to enter the Mosque was so long that we gave up, we moved to Masada, we "conquered" it on foot paying an entrance fee of about 8 € with the university card. In late March the desert was not hot but livable, we spent several hours on the rock and then went from its + 400m to -450m of the Dead Sea Depression. Here we took a bath and enjoyed the free showers on the beach. At about 21 we arrived at Eilat presso Corinne Hostel with approximately 13 € per person per night.
Directly at the hostel we booked the guided tour to Petra 170 € all inclusive (entry tax to Jordan, transport, guide, entry, lunch)
Petra - fifth day
Petra is an obligatory stop although it is not cheap, you will be amazed by this marvel. To read a in-depth study on Petra we recommend the
Eillat - sixth day
Relaxing day on the Eilat beaches and some snorkeling, no diving as the return flight was the day after, in general, however, with less than 40 € you can do it, including equipment.
For Tel Aviv there are about 4 hours by car, do not be fooled by the distances.
We spent the night in a nightclub Rothschild Blvd.. Approximately 6 € the entrance
Tel Aviv - seventh day
Since the flight left at 19 local time we had time to quickly visit the city and specifically the waterfront. Go to the airport in time since controls are strict, at least 3 hours before take-off.
Overall holiday different from the usual and unforgettable, total total expense: 700 €
