A big interview today, he is with us Carla the founder of Parisian faq, if you don't know it, I strongly suggest you to take a leap, really very useful; )
How did this passion for blogging start?
I have never moved to Paris. I started hanging out in the French capital in 1976 and for seven years (1999-2006), my husband Gianluca and I had a pied-à-terre in the 17th arr. The idea of the site was by Gianluca. One day he asked me, “Why don't you share yours with others Parisian know-how?". And so, slowly, the Parisian faq
How many emails do you get about tips for Paris?
In private mail, not very many, but I answer numerous questions about Paris in the appropriate one forum di TripAdvisor Italy and AllExperts.com.
Paris, a low cost place to eat?
As for quality / quantity / price ratio, I highly recommend the Flam's chain, which offers an exquisite Alsatian specialty, the Flammeküche. Another good value chain is Chez Papa (Southwestern French cuisine). Finally, I point out in very positive terms Chez Clément. In general, at midday you can find very affordable formulas (between 10 and 15 euros) in many restaurants and brasseries.
Is it true that Paris hotels are extremely dirty?
Luckily, I have never had such experiences. All the Parisian hotels I stayed in had / have a good standard of hygiene.
The place that many tourists don't know but worth visiting?
There are a lot of them, to be honest. One of these is the Carré Saint-Louis (closed on weekends), inside the hospital of the same name, in 10th (M ° Goncourt): it is a sort of place des Vosges without arcades. Another is the cour de Rohan (closed on Sundays), from the cour du Commerce Saint-André, in the 6th arr. (M ° Odéon): a string of tiny, lovely courtyards, where (a little curiosity) is the last one pas-de-mule remained in the city (the pas-de-mule is an iron tripod that was used by ladies, elderly men and religious to ride). It seems that Diane de Poitiers, the historical mistress of Henry II, had her Parisian residence here.
The most beautiful view in Paris?
The one from Tour Montparnasse. The one from the small place du Calvaire, on the Butte Montmartre (18ème arr., M ° Abbesses) is also very impressive.
Paris the city of lovers, is it true?
It is certainly a city that offers many romantic ideas, such as i quais of the Seine, square Barye, rue de Furstenberg, the many parks (Montsouris, Monceau and Buttes-Chaumont in the first place), the enchanting Ile Saint-Louis.
But are the French as obnoxious as they seem?
In my opinion, absolutely not. I personally know a lot of lovely French people. :-) A good way to make friends with them is to respect their little "formalities", to which they are very fond: it is imperative to always say bonjour, bonne journée, au revoir, à bientôt, merci, s'il vous plaît, and so on.
