    Unfortunately I was unable to tell you about the Tonol pastry shopor before the Carnival as I would have liked ... but I recover immediately, it is never too late to recommend this "Toyland"!

    Since 1886 this pastry bakes every day fresh desserts of all kinds: from simple brioches to pastries, passing through pastries, cakes, Venetian focaccia, cream puffs, pretzels and so on and so forth (Carnival fritters and galani are also very famous, but for these you will have to wait until next year!). It is now famous in the city but beyond, students flock for have breakfast before starting the university day or to get up in the lunch break and even some more attentive tourists stop to fill their bellies after so many up and down the bridges.

    The place is narrow and long: a display case exposes every good-of-god and the only point of support is the counter of the cafeteria, this in fact is theonly flaw, there is very little space, no chair to relax in and often not even the space to place the cup of coffee. Prices are normal: € 1 coffee, € 1,30 cappuccino, € 1 / 1,20 pastries and pastries, while the rest of the desserts are by weight. Tonolo is located at 3764 in the Dorsoduro district (Crosera San Pantalon), near Campo Santa Margherita, the Frari area and San Rocco.



    I just have to tell you to don't miss a stop here during your next weekend in the lagoon, I assure you it's worth it!
