The extraordinary evening openings of the Colosseum in Rome, every Thursday and Saturday in fact, until November 2, the event from the name The moon over the Colosseum comes to life again.
The night visits of the Flavian amphitheater will take place two days a week, on Thursday and Saturday, during which the Colosseum will be magically illuminated by an enchanting bright moon that will give greater prominence in the basement, to the galleries and internal arches creating for its visitors an enchanted atmosphere in the whole cavea of the amphitheater.
The Colosseum will be illuminated by a artificial moon, suspended in the center of the arena. The visit has a duration of 75 minutes and is organized in groups accompanied by an archaeologist who will take you to discover the arena and the underground, showing the places where gladiators and wild beasts waited before appearing in front of the public to challenge each other in bloody games and hunts, to then continue in ambulatory on the first floor, with a view from above on the entire cavea jagged by the chiaroscuro of the night lighting.
