THE1 June one of the most anticipated Venetian events will begin: the 55th International Art Exhibition, which will end as usual in late autumn, on November 24th.
La Biennial will occupy the fascinating (and too often forgotten) zone of the gardens and Arsenal, with ramifications of exhibitions and events in many other places scattered throughout Venice. Also this year there will be several countries that will join those already present for the first time (Bahamas, Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Kosovo, Kuwait, Maldives, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Paraguay). The theme, said the curator Massimiliano Gioni, will be "The Encyclopedic palace”Inspired by Maurino Auriti's 1955 project of“ an imaginary museum that was supposed to house all the knowledge of humanity, collecting the greatest discoveries of mankind, from the wheel to the satellite ”. The exhibition will therefore exhibit contemporary works of art, historical artifacts, found objects and artifacts with the aim of structuring knowledge and shaping our experience of the world.
I ticket prices entry and various practical details have not yet been published, but will certainly be announced soon on the official website.
As always the occasion of the Biennale can be a way to stay in the city for a couple of days and take advantage of our tips for experience a Venice Low Cost.
