Visit Verona in one day? Yes, it is possible. Verona is easily reachable by any means of transport because it is connected with all the main Italian cities. Very useful for the visit will be the VeronaCard, a card with a cost of 15/20 euros that can be used for 24 / 72h which allows you to visit all the monuments and attractions of the city without spending even a cent more.
My visit to Verona started from the city center, from the pedestrian square that houses the very famous Arena di Verona where at the cost of 6 € it is possible to visit the amphitheater where from the large internal staircase you can admire all the roofs of the city. Very interesting are the shows that take place periodically in the Arena such as the music shows. Via Mazzini opens up from the large square where the Arena stands, the shopping street at the end of which it is located Piazza Erbe full of restaurants and stalls with objects and souvenirs, but also many local delicacies. Near this square is the Lamberti Tower, the highest point in Verona from where you can admire the city at 360 °. The ticket costs here 4,50 € and even if you have the VeronaCard you will have to pay for the use of the lift that will take you to the first floor, saving you 243 steps, but then you will have to continue on foot. Pay attention to the ears, here there are 3 campaigns that ring every half hour.
My visit continued with the most famous place in Verona: Juliet's house. The small courtyard below the famous balcony is besieged by tourists at all times. From here it is possible to enter Juliet's house and visit all the rooms including the room of the young Capulet and lean out from the balcony for the
The city center is full of churches, but not having a lot of time available, I preferred not to go in to visit them and opt for a walk along the Adige until reaching the archaeological museum of the Roman Theater with its beautiful gardens (ticket 1euro) and then continue with the visit of Castelvecchio, one of the most important museums in Verona which is located inside the large complex of the Scaligera fortress that can be visited at the price of 6 €.
The last stop on my visit was the Juliet's tomb reachable by walking a little and moving away from the center. The tomb is housed inside an ancient Capuchin convent, here at the cost of 4,50euro in addition to the tomb, it is also possible to visit the adjacent museum of Cavalcaselle.
This is all I was able to visit after a busy day walking through the streets of Verona, but the city offers many other equally beautiful and interesting places. Don't forget to try it Savoia ice cream parlor in via Roma in front of the Arena, one of the most famous ice cream parlors in the city. To know: the municipality of Verona every year on women's day, 8 March, offers free entry to the fairer sex, and having visited the city on this day it was for me a really low cost trip, while every 1st Sunday of the month all the museums including the Arena are accessible with only 1 euro.
