Our daily life flows inexorably, hastily, stressful: it is the same for everyone, students, mothers, career men, grandparents. The lifestyle in the era of globalization crushes us, needless to deny it, in a flood of tasks. Always in a hurry, often angry, I dare say neurotic. Time has now become a luxury for a few, the most precious resource we need so much but which is never enough.
Just thinking about the hunger for time and the need to take space for ourselves and for the people we love recently, an idea came to mind: spend an entire day away from daily chores, from the noise, from the traffic, from the smog, from the telephone and dedicate it completely to relaxation and well-being, sharing these rare moments of peace with the people we love most.
Thus was born the idea of spending an alternative day with family (but also with friends!) At the extraordinary QC Terme Roma.
A relaxing day at the QC Terme di Roma
Yes, you got it right, a whole day to spend with the family in total relaxation in a fabulous wellness center: no stress, no rush, no confusion, and all the time at our disposal to relax.
The term they open at 10.00 in the morning and close at 23.00 pm. I recommend arriving no later than 10.30 in the morning, have lunch in the light cafe and stay until the aperitif - which is actually an aperitif.
At that point, after a day of whirlpools, saunas and beds, you will be more than relaxed and satisfied with the beautiful day, then you will return home with a beautiful smile and the joy of being pampered properly. How to do? Now I'll tell you.
At the gates of the Eternal City, very close to the Leonardo Da Vinci airport, it rises a magical place, with an ancient history.
In fact, the area on which the Qc Terme Roma is located, today a natural park Porto oasis, was formerly a real port built by the emperor Trajan. What remains of it is a lake surrounded by a wonderful park: in this oasis of peace, next to the glorious history of Rome, stands the Qc Terme structure, hotel and wellness center, completely dedicated to the well-being of the person. The whole structure is located inside the noble estate of Duke Ascanio Sforza Cesarini.
A unique place of its kind, expertly restored and refurbished, used as an earthly paradise. The wellness program of Qc Terme Roma is incredibly large, very clean, well maintained and cared for.
The service staff is extremely professional and kind at the same time.
Entering you have the feeling of going back in time, indeed of stopping time, and of returning to the times of the ancient Romans, whose philosophy of well-being these spas are inspired by. The water that is used comes from a local thermal aquifer and is heated to 37 °, allowing total relaxation while not having therapeutic properties.
What is striking when admiring the architectural structure, the marbles and the furnishing details is the combination of ancient and modern. This is a magical place where time does not exist, but where everything revolves around the guest, his relaxation and his well-being.
Wellness path
The wellness program begins in aunderground area very fascinating, obtained from the warehouses of the estate, where, among other things, food supplies were once stored.
The entrance to the spa is majestic and opens onto a very long corridor that crosses the entire wellness area and ends outside, in the wonderful park. The central corridor is interrupted by a small bridge surrounded by cascading jets of water where you can have your neck and shoulders massaged, undoubtedly to be tried to release tension.
On the sides of the long corridor there are 4 large areas, two on each side, where all the wonders that this wellness center offers are housed.
There is an entire area dedicated to whirlpools, where you will find multiple tubs to pleasantly massage each area of the body and completely relax.
Expertly harmonized in the other areas there are two different types of Turkish bath with compensation tank, 3 saunas one more beautiful than the other at three different temperatures, a tub for kneipp path and wonderful emotional showers with chromotherapy and aromatherapy.
I love and recommend the sauna of the grotesques both because inside there is a skylight that illuminates it in different ways during the various hours of the day, and because it is scented with aromatic herbs that are a delight for the senses.
An extraordinary gem can be found just before the entrance doors to the Spa, on the right. Here climbs a wonderful one marble staircase which leads to a relaxation area on the upper floor where you can relax sipping a herbal tea complete with a fireplace during the cold season! Adjacent to this room there is another that houses vintage carriages: here it is possible to relax with soft lights on comfortable mattresses lying on the floor and, why not, take a nap.
This whole area is dedicated to rest, relaxation, silence and meditation. The air seems almost rarefied, in winter the fireplace crackles merrily, you are comfortably seated on a rocking chair full of padded cushions, nothing and no one seems to be able to disturb such a profound stillness.
The park
The wonder of Qc Terme Roma does not end in the underground path. The long corridor of the wellness area in fact leads to the park that surrounds the structure, where you can admire manicured lawns and towering trees that frame the remaining part of the wellness program.
Even in the cold season it is possible to take advantage of the outdoor pools because the water is adequately heated: an experience absolutely to try!
Scattered in the park you will find numerous whirlpools harmoniously integrated into the landscape; plus there is a fresh water pool right next to a wonderful one sauna which has an entire crystal wall to allow you to admire the colors of nature: the park, the sky, the animals, in short, a dream.
There is also no shortage of beds, comfortable rocking chairs and suspended cushions, scattered everywhere ad hoc to allow relaxation immersed in nature. To complete the path, outside, there is a glass structure that hosts sofas all day and dispenser with hot drinks and water.
In the evening, from 18.30pm to 21.00pm, a rich cold aperitif with pizza, sandwiches, small pizzas, various appetizers and fruit. All washed down with wine and prosecco at will.
In winter the structure is heated by the mushroom stoves while immediately outside there are real fireplaces surrounded by comfortable armchairs ... in short a truly unforgettable aperitif in a bathrobe!
Smart advice
In summary, here are some tips to make the most of your day at Qc Terme Roma:
- Arrive by 10.30 to avoid queuing
- The lockers close with the bracelet that will be supplied so you do not need a padlock.
- At the entrance they will give you a kit consisting of 1 pair of slippers, 1 towel and 1 bathrobe.
- I recommend that you bring your own slippers, otherwise it will be very easy to confuse them with those of other guests
- Bring at least one or better 2 dry swimsuits as a spare. To go to lunch and for an aperitif you will be happy to be dry.
- You can change both the towels and the bathrobes at the laundry but you will pay the difference (2 euros for the clean bathrobe): no one forbids you to bring a dry and soft one from home that you will only need to go to eat and to take an aperitif .
- The changing rooms are equipped with shower products, face creams and body creams in quantity, you don't need to bring them from home. There are also hairdryers available.
- The most important tip: you are a wellness center, so relax, do everything very calmly, forget your watch and enjoy your time with your family.
It is not difficult to understand that I am enthusiastic about this structure: it is located in an enchanting location, it is based on a philosophy of well-being in the round in which self-care and time for loved ones are central, everything is neat and very clean, also you eat well.
