The historical-naturalistic itinerary of the Vinsanto in Montefollonico, part of the Municipality of Torrita di Siena (SI). The fraction, which obtained the Orange flag of the Italian Touring Club, offers its tenacious visitors the opportunity they have been waiting for, to discover hidden corners and breathtaking landscapes. Why not take advantage of one outing out of town in the beautiful town built entirely of stone with lots of fresh air and a walk ?!
The path winds through about 7 km, along which you will be in close contact with nature, between local roads, wooded areas and waterways. The ancient path, dating back to the Middle Ages, originally connected the two castles of Torrita and Montefollonico, the last outposts of the famous dispute between the Sienese and the Florentines.
Along the promenade you can also rest, in fact there are benches and equipped areas to stop and enjoy the scenery.

If you want to stay longer, I recommend a visit to the nearby Montepulciano and a fantastic souvenir photo in the Crete Senesi. I have made some beautiful ones on the road that from Asciano takes you to the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore… truly exceptional!
