The days are getting longer and the trip out of town is a must especially in this period full of bridges. Living in Rimini, I took the opportunity to take a long drive in the interior, along theUpper Valmarecchia Rimini.
After visiting the famous fortress of San Leo and having seen its recent landslide on the side facing the convent of Sant'Igne we decided to stop for a pizza at the Tanha pizzeria restaurant. It is located in the municipality of Talamello along the Marecchiese road (SS 258) which from Rimini crosses the entire Marecchia Valley to San Sepolcro, in Tuscany.
The pizzeria is located near what used to be an extraction quarry, now transformed into a small lake for sport fishing. I will have crossed it dozens of times but only now have we stopped. I could also have chosen to eat something more challenging, but I wanted to try their pizza.
Being in Talamello, where every year there is a festival dedicated to Fossa cheese Dop, I chose a zucchini pizza with grated pit cheese. The choice of pizzas is vast, I admit, but I could not resist the idea of a simple pizza and only embellished with what is called the Ambra di Talamello, with a very strong flavor.
The bad luck was my forgetfulness in pointing out that I wanted a high pizza and so I found myself faced with a decidedly low and a little overcooked pizza. Of course the cost of the pizza was made by the DOP cheese, but overall I noticed that the average prices are very high. The place is still pleasant and with the large outdoor garden it is suitable for those who want to stop, perhaps on a motorbike, for a stop & go snack during a cool summer evening in the midst of nature.
