Probably one of the most fascinating seasons to visit the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. With its pristine beech woods, the oldest park in Italy (the palm is competed with that of the Gran Paradiso) is tinged with wonderful colors this season. When the season gets colder, several places in the Park are covered in snow.
The park is suitable for all types of tourists, from families with children to the more enterprising walkers, because it offers a vast network of paths and varied landscapes, from the blunt peaks of Apennines to others, with a typically alpine appearance. Or maybe it is suitable for relaxing walks, perhaps ending with stops at the restaurant to taste the delicious local dishes. In autumn there are no problems even to access the regulated places due to the presence of protected fauna, such as the Val di Rose. In fact, in the height of summer the Visitor Centers release gods permits to limit the number of hikers in the environment. In recent years, the Park has carried out a serious work of protection, with rigorous controls (walking around you will meet several park guards), while maintaining its vitality thanks to guided tours, recognition and educational activities.
The beauty of the park is also in the variety of environments: from the purely "alpine" air of the most important center of Pescasseroli to the milder climate of Barrea, on the homonymous lake - an artificial dam. However, a place where you feel good and that communicates the full meaning of the holiday. The welcome is also of a high standard, despite being contained in costs: small and hospitable accommodation facilities, restaurants and trattorias in line with tradition, abundant dishes, friendly service.
