Il National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise it is the oldest natural park in Italy. Between the provinces of L'Aquila, Frosinone and Isernia, here you can meet animals such as the golden eagle, the wolf, the Marsican bear, the Abruzzo chamois and the lynx. Ideal for families since the Visitor Centers of the numerous locations within the park offer educational programs and activities in every season, during which children are supervised by specialized educators. The little ones learn the art of recycling, the life of bees and discover the ancient crafts.
Among the numerous villages I indicate you pescasseroli with its Naturalistic Museum designed for children and the Wildlife Park, where you can meet the Marsican brown bear, the buzzard, the Apennine wolf and the roe deer. The town of Civitella Alfedena hosts the Wolf Museum and the Wolf and Lynx Wildlife Areas; and then again the Villavallelonga Bear Visitor Center and the Opi Chamois Visitor Center.
For skiing with children I recommend Pescasseroli, the largest and best known tourist center in the Abruzzo National Park. Considered an important winter sports resort equipped with five ski lifts serving about 20 km of slopes, with routes suitable for children.
Among the largest and most enchanting in Italy there is the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park, included within the province of L'Aquila. The park is a perfect destination for a family vacation to discover nature throughout the year. In fact, the area hosts an infinite variety of fauna and flora. Here too it is possible to meet Marsican bears, the Apennine wolf, the golden eagle and the eagle owl.
During the winter season, children will surely have fun in the town of Ovindoli. Typical mountain village, it is one of the most important municipalities in the heart of the Sirente-Velino Park.
