It is said that its name derives from the proximity of the business to a stand it sold caramelized pears. Born in late '800 like typical tavern, with the passing of the years and the changes in the neighborhood, this splendid place was then transformed into a trattoria, but it remains a fixed point for lovers of good food.
The owner family, who have managed the restaurant for more than twenty years, is proud to have been able to keep theart of "poor" cooking and as soon as you enter, you immediately perceive that typical atmosphere of trattorias, halfway between tradition and home air, which makes the environment so welcoming.
In the menu they are found traditional dishes who strictly follow the original recipes, created by the skilled hands of Mrs. Giuliana, an excellent cook and owner. The choice can only make the fans of typical cuisine happy: from appetizers to cured meats of own production, to the first courses of fresh handmade pasta of the day. A few examples? Excellent i bigoli with duck or with sardines and fettuccine with porcini mushrooms. There is also a wide range of meat main courses and seasonal dishes, such as grilled meat salà or the typical polenta and "pastissada de caval" and fettuccine with black truffle from lessini.
In addition to these typically Veronese specialties, i tortelli with red radicchio and the pan-fried pork escalopes, a pairing you won't easily forget! As for the dessert, you cannot miss a taste of pears cooked in caramel or, for lovers of particular flavors, pineapple tiramisu or plums cooked in cabernet wine.
Go there on a rainy day with your other half, the atmosphere will guarantee you a 'intimate and romantic experience, a few minutes from the city center, in piazza Isolo.
