The most beautiful beaches on the island of Asinara in Sardinia, how to identify them and how to reach them to spend a holiday in one of the paradises of Italy.
Maybe not everyone knows it, but theAsinara island, now a national park, is a small island located in the extreme part of Sardinia North-West, characterized by cliffs and unspoiled beaches.
Le beaches of Asinara they are not very busy and can be reached by special boats that lead to the island. If you visit this part of Sardinia I absolutely recommend that you take a sailing trip here to enjoy its beauties.
In addition to the beaches I recommend you take a guided tour inland to admire the now abandoned places such as the ancient prison, but also to admire many animal species up close, such as the famous one white donkey of Asinara.
Punta Barbarossa
Punta Barbarossa is located in the south-eastern part of the island and is famous for its seabed with expanses of posidonia, ancient Roman amphorae and colorful fish. The beach is very small and mostly a base for diving.
Cala Sabina
Cala Sabina is located on the promontory of Cala Sabina precisely, at the eastern end of the Asinara island, in this beach it is allowed to swim.
Cala Trabuccato
It is the favorite beach for snorkelers, here you can admire specimens of giants and rare molluscs.
Cala d'Oliva
Here, when the island was inhabited, the church, the school, the workshop, the carpentry and a dairy were built. Not far away was the bunker, where the most dangerous criminals were kept. It is a place of high naturalistic interest where the Botanical Observatory stands.
Cala d'Arena
Cala d'Arena is characterized by an Aragonese tower dating back to 1660, it is the most beautiful beach on the island: white sand and crystal clear waters.
Cala Sant'Andrea
Cala Sant'Andrea is a beach that can only be reached with private boats departing from Stintino. Cala Sant'Andrea is an inlet of fine sand with turquoise and transparent waters, here access is prohibited as it is subject to environmental protection.
Cala Reale
Cala Reale is a meeting point for those interested in making excursions to the island, here a few meters from the pier there is a wreck of a Roman ship.
Since they are all beaches of maximum environmental protection, all itineraries, baths and diving must be authorized from the Asinara park.
