Il Boboli Gardens of Florence is located on the back of the Pitti Palace, wanted by the Medici family, is the model par excellence of Italian garden which influenced many European courts. The space organized in a regular and symmetrical way, in addition to a rich vegetation offers many fountains and caves like the Buontalenti cave. The Boboli Gardens is, as we have already recommended, for us one of the most beautiful parks in Florence.
The garden, which welcomes over 800.000 visitors every year, occupies an area of approximately 45.000 square meters. The main axis, centered on the rear facade of the building proposes a deep anfiteatro in the shape of a horseshoe. From the amphitheater you can enjoy a beautiful view of the back of the building. Beyond the Amphitheater is the basin of Neptune was created in place of a nursery. In the center of the basin stands the Neptune Fountain, with the statue of God of the sea emerging from a rocky spur on which there are also naiads and newts.
La Buontalenti cave, is one of the most valuable elements of the park. Its construction is mainly due to Bernardo Buontalenti, who created it around 1583 and is one of the most bizarre and surprising buildings in Florence.
Obviously the Boboli Gardens is really huge, there are also there Limonaia, the Grotto of Adam and Eve, the Isolotto, the Viottolone and much more. The invitation is not to waste too much time before the visit but to throw yourself in the Boboli Gardens and get lost.
