    It happened that on Friday evening my friends and I had heard about a notorious "lasagna festival" in Casalecchio di Reno, in the province of Bologna. So around 9.30 we get in the car convinced that we can eat good products at reasonable prices and instead… .. we get there and they tell us that it was all over, that we had arrived too late.

    In the throes of total despair, with the stomach starting to be felt, we get back in the car towards home. But the unexpected happens along the way: someone begins with "I know of a tavern nearby that should be open".
    So we decide to try our luck, it couldn't be worse than that.

    The tavern il Burnt Mill, is located in the Lame area (via Selva Pescarola), in a truly unique location, a few steps from a small river that passes under Bologna.

    It is an antique cottage used as a restaurant, with exposed brick and an extremely informal and very lively environment.
    No menu: a waiter will come to the table and list all the dishes available that evening which are really many and all typical of the Romagna tradition.


    They range from the famous tagliatelle Bolognese to those with nettle with shallots and bacon, ravioli with gorgonzola and walnuts, cutlet Bolognese and grilled meat - remember them all is really impossible! -.
    Excellent quality at extremely reasonable prices: for a complete dinner consisting of an appetizer, first course, second course, dessert and wine you will spend around 25 € to person.



    In short, if you are in Bologna or you find yourself passing by, do not miss a dinner between the peasant and the citizen directly at the Mulino Bruciato!
